January Tales from the Ranch “The magic in new beginnings is truly the most powerful of them all.” Josiyah Martin Hello Friends!
I'm always excited to welcome in a new year filled with new beginnings and opportunities. As we say goodbye to 2021, I am in awe of the incredible support that you all showered us with. When RidgeGate offered a $100,000.00 match so that we can complete our construction documents, you came through. When they then decided to increase their match by another $30,000.00-you confirmed that you were still with us; and when we raised over $150,000.00 in our end of year campaign, RidgeGate raised their match again!
We are entering into this new year ready to begin the 2nd phase of our development: to complete our construction documents and move into the building process. This incredible progress is a direct result of your dedication to inclusion and integration and we couldn't be more grateful.
Another exciting opportunity that we'll experience in 2022 brings a new member to our TTR family. After over 7 years at the helm of TTR, it is time for me to change my role and for a new Executive Director to come on board. After a lengthy search, Laura McKenna has been chosen as our next leader and we are so thrilled to welcome her.
Laura has not only served on our board for the past year, she has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, having served as the Executive Director of HomeAid Colorado for 16 years, and the Development Director of HomeAid America for the past 2 years. Laura has also worked in the IDD community and has a son, Noah, who lives with special needs. There is no one who I would feel better about joining our team and helping us write the next chapter!
I will absolutely remain committed to our mission and our work and will focus my energies on community outreach and supporting our phenomenal team.
In gratitude,
Susan Mooney, Founder/Fairy Godmother

Thanks to RidgeGate, and to all of you who contributed to help us exceed the match! QUESTIONS REGARDING STRUCTURING YOUR ONE-TIME OR MULTI-YEAR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN PLEDGE? Please contact Heather Lauren Quiroga, Development Director, at 720.227.5363 or Heather@talltalesranch.org
Tall Tales Coffee Company pilot launching this spring!
With the help of many supporters, we purchased a trailer in 2021 that will be the first home of our newest venture-the Tall Tales Coffee Company. We are now customizing the trailer for our soon-to-launch mobile coffee business that will provide relevant, impactful, predictable, and community-based training and employment for our ambassadors, while increasing our exposure and outreach into the greater Lone Tree community.
Our goal is to have the trailer hit the road later this year, starting with a pilot program planned for this Spring. Stay tuned here for future updates; we can't wait to serve you!
New ambassador programming coming soon
To start, I'd like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and well wishes for our daughter Louisa. She is doing great and thriving at home with her big brothers!
Like many of you, I am so looking forward to a fresh start in 2022. With this new year will come a new monthly TTR social program, Ambassador Game Night, aimed at providing opportunities for community, connection and joy among our Tall Tales Ranch ambassadors (whether in person or virtually!). Details and registration will be communicated via the programs email list, so please be sure to send me an email via the orange button to the left if you would like to be added!
Cheers,
Sally McCance Director of Programs
